Micki is known throughout the global metal’s world for his industrial risk management expertise. His long-standing relationships with all aspects of the metals supply chain have allowed him to develop a substantial understanding of the underlying price risk exposures that are unique to each type of business. He brings a knowledge of risk mitigating strategies and relationship management experience that will be a fit for the specialised needs of every client.
In a career spanning over 40 years, Micki initially worked in the international banking world with Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch and Scotia Bank in metals derivatives trading and commodity finance. More recently he is known for his 20+ years with the highly respected commodity broker Mitsui Bussan Commodities. His hands on and practical approach has assisted many companies with price risk challenges presented by base metals, precious metals and foreign exchange volatility for many operations.
Micki’s skills include the identification of risk, commercial policy, guidance on risk-appropriate governance and navigating the complex onboarding requirements including; execution of FIA and ISDA documentation; Credit, KYC and Compliance requirements. He also has an excellent level of understanding of the workings and application of financial derivative instruments widely used by the metals industry which has made him the go-to person for many of the world’s leading metal industrial risk managers.
