Shrikant is a global commodities and risk-management professional with nearly three decades of experience across metals, mining, and chemicals businesses operating in highly volatile markets. He brings a combination of strategic perspective and hands-on operating experience gained from senior leadership roles across Asia, North America, and global markets.

Throughout his career, Shrikant has designed, implemented, and governed enterprise-wide price-risk and hedging frameworks covering base and precious metals—including copper, zinc, aluminium, gold, and silver—alumina, crude oil, petrochemicals, and foreign exchange. He established the first commodity hedging desk at Hindalco and later built and led Novelis’ global commodity and financial risk-management platform, overseeing LME-linked pricing, futures and advanced options strategies, FX risk management, risk governance, and contract structures. These frameworks proved critical in preserving liquidity and business continuity during periods of extreme market stress, including the global financial crisis.

As Group Head of Commercial, Marketing, and Risk at Vedanta, Shrikant oversaw approximately $15 billion in annual commodity buying and selling, developed group-wide hedging programs across commodities and foreign exchange, structured offtake-backed financing solutions, launched India’s largest digital metals marketplace, and led the negotiation of long-term physical commodity contracts across metals, alumina, and key raw materials. Earlier leadership roles at Indorama Ventures and Adani Global further deepened his experience across global procurement strategy, supply-chain optimization, M&A due diligence, structured finance, treasury, and strategic supplier partnerships.
